Corporate Charter (Article III of the Articles of Incorporation)
Pursuant to the relevant provisions of the Washington Nonprofit Corporation Act, Northwest Hospital Foundation “is organized exclusively for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes as a not-for-profit corporation, and to support Northwest Hospital, currently located at 1550 North 115th Street, Seattle, Washington 98133, so long as the Hospital is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, or successor provisions.
Exempt Status
By letter dated June 20, 1978 from District Director Arturo A. Jacobs, the Internal Revenue Service determined that Northwest Hospital Foundation was "exempt from Federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code." The Foundation’s Federal EIN is 91-1011603.
By letter dated May 2, 1980 from District Director Arturo A. Jacobs, the Internal Revenue Service further determined that Northwest Hospital Foundation was "not a private foundation within the meaning of section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code…"
