Part of Northwest Hospital’s comprehensive cancer program, the Cancer Registry helps healthcare providers learn more about cancer by tracking important trends in types of cancer and cancer treatment. The Cancer Registry collects the hospital’s cancer data, analyzes it and reports it annually to state and national cancer databases, including the American College of Surgeons National Cancer Database. Under the guidance of the hospital’s Cancer Committee, the Cancer Registry maintains data on each patient’s type of cancer, course of treatment, response to treatment and medical status for the patient’s lifetime.
